As if the format was a war between HD DVD and Blu-ray high-def DVD formats is not sufficiently heated, there will probably other players come into the ring in the immediate future. An almost unknown company called New Medium Enterprises is set to sent their high-def disc format, called HD VMD.
Unlike Blu-ray and HD DVD, HD VMD has the advantage of existing technology red laser to read data discs. This use of a technology already established makes HDVMD technology much cheaper than HD DVD or Blu-ray. They, in fact, while HD DVD players are about three hundred dollars apiece, and Blu-ray recently suppressed in locked five hundred dollars, HD VMD players will probably cost around a hundred and fifty dollars the first time they meet Stores like Costco and Radio Shack. Besides the lower cost of players, the discs themselves are cheaper. HD VMD discs should be significantly less than either of the two costsBased formats (if you could the two formats, which is stated in the midst of a bitter and protracted war format called) is slightly higher than traditional DVDs.
Before anyone gets too excited be able to watch HD movies from a disk, it should be noted that there are very few titles in HD VMD. In fact, it's only about twenty songs that come from the United States and most of them come from small, independentStudios, including a statement of Mel Gibson. In addition to twenty titles of us, is also a large number of foreign titles, such as Indian movies from Bollywood.
Of course there is a considerable amount of skepticism about the possibility of a small start up from scratch, the efforts of two mass society, such as Toshiba and Sony. This is particularly hard to believe when you use the fact that Blu-ray and HD DVD both support the viewSome studies large enough film, but this does not mean it is impossible. Finally, the possibility of buying a player, half the nearest competitor and less than a third the price of other nearest competitors quite attractive to consumers and corporations, ultimately, to consumers what they want to give. There are a lot of economic pressures on movie titles on HD VMD release.
At this point, the technical details of HD VMD has not yetentirely clear, but there are a number of things we're guessing this new format. Especially because we know that HD VMD on the same red laser technology, traditional DVDs and CDs are based, we suspect that a disk HD VMD can not so much data to Blu-ray or HD DVD based music store, which are both blue-violet laser-technology. This is a reasonable probably due to the fact that a blue-violet laser has a wavelength and can therefore encode more information, morefine may, on a disc rather than the wavelength of a red laser. What can really more of a problem if you consider the fact that a Blu-ray disc, the most HD-DVD can store, it is possible, but may still be storing movies HDTV can be used.
Only time will tell how this challenge will be to play the big HDTV DVD formats, but is likely to occur when the primitive super advanced technology to the economy.
